of the Unitarian Chapel, St Saviourgate, York [1579-1945]
The Unitarian Chapel in St Saviourgate is the oldest existing
nonconformist worship in the City of York, having been
registered on 12th Apr 1693. The records of the Chapel were
deposited by the Secretary and the Committee in 1968, these
records cover the period 1746-1931. Although only a few records
of the congregation survive, there is considerable materials,
both manuscript and printed, relating to the Reverend Charles
Wellbeloved (assistant minister 1792-1800, minister
1800-1858 and an antiquity of repute) and to his family......
